Monday, December 8, 2008 - Christmas Greetings

"Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth, peace, goodwill towards men." I have thought often of those shepherds on the lonely hillside near Bethlehem and how they must have felt as the angel appeared to announce the birth of the Savior of the world! Many years have come and gone since that particular evening, but the message they shared is as certain today as it was then. Every mile we have traveled this year, every message we have preached, every soul to whom we have spoken, every bill we have gladly paid, and every difficulty we have faced has been for the purpose of continuing the message those angels proclaimed so many years ago.

We can proclaim "Glory to God in the Highest." He has sure been good to us this year. We have traveled thousands of miles and He has granted us incredible safety. We had to purchase a new truck in order to accommodate our growing family, and He directed us to the very one we needed and provided the necessary finances so we could purchase it. He allowed us to have very good ministries in Moldova and in the Philippines. Between the four weeks we were in these countries, we saw almost 400 souls saved! He also blessed us in our revivals here at home. In Marshalltown, Iowa, for instance, we held an eight-day campaign and saw His presence especially manifested as lives were changed, souls were saved, and the church was blessed and helped. From Wisconsin to Florida to South Dakota to Missouri and to several dozen places in between, we saw many come to faith in Christ, many others experience genuine reviving, and many churches strengthened in the faith! And that is why our hearts proclaim "Glory to God in the highest!"

We can also rejoice in His blessings on our family. Abigail joined the youth group this year and is growing into a beautiful and godly young lady. Joshua is quickly becoming a young man and has a tender heart towards the things of the Lord as well. Matthew turned eight this year and keeps expressing a desire to someday go to the Mission Fields of the World. In his own words: "I want to go to the Australia as a missionary so I can see alligators and crocodiles!" It may not be the right motivation, but his heart is still in missions. Jacob is already five and is enjoying kindergarten with his Mom! He too is growing in the Lord. And of course, our greatest blessing this year has been the addition of Charity Noel. She was born November 5 and weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces. What a delight it has been having a newborn in the family. We can't wait for you to meet her!

Please pray for our ministry in 2009! We have revivals, Family Matters Conferences, youth camps, and evangelistic trips in Haiti and Moldova. There are many miles to go, many needs to be met, and much work to do. The hour increasingly darkens, but there is still "peace, goodwill towards men" available through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.

As always, thanks for your prayers, your support, and, most of all, your friendship. Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,

The David Young Revival Team
