Monday, August 17, 2009 - Summer's End

They say that the older you get the faster time flies! Which makes me wonder if I am getting older because this summer has certainly gone quickly past. And what a good summer our Lord has given to us. We "kicked-it-off" with a revival campaign in Florida, did several summer camps, conducted one weekend Family Matters Conference , and closed the summer with a two week Evangelistic trip to Moldova. God blessed mightily in each of these and we were overjoyed to be a part of what He did!

The first week of the summer took us to Faith Baptist Church of Palm Bay, Florida. Pastor Lou Shulz and the congregation welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home in their church family. We were thrilled to see how well the church family supported the revival campaign. Many, many responded each evening asking God to revive them in both their personal lives and in their homes too. Several were saved in the services too! Dave Corn, who will be joining our team "full-time" in a few days joined us for the week their and did an incredible job in the Children's Crusade too. A number were saved in those services too!

We were very blessed to be a part of Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp in Dillsboro, Indiana as well as Richmond Lake Youth Camp in Aberdeen, SD. Both camp weeks were very exciting and in both weeks some were saved, many dedicated themselves to the Lord, some were called to preach, and many, many other decisions were made too! I have spoken at both camps before and was thrilled to do so again. If you live close to either of these areas you would do well to consider taking your youth to these two places!

Our Family Matters Conference was held at Bethel Baptist Church in Hartselle, Alabama. Pastor Dave Gamble and the church have always been a blessing to us and this Conference was certainly no exception. We had very good crowds in each session and I believe we were able to strengthen many marriages and many homes. I spoke in two general sessions on parenting; one general session on marriage; two sessions just for men. Bethlie also conducted one session just for ladies. Thank you Bethel Baptist Church for your kindness and hospitality to our family during the conference!

I closed our summer (at least what we call summer) with a two week trip to the country of Moldova. I have been on several occassions and especially enjoyed this trip. The first week I spoke in a Leadership Camp to over 350 people! 25 were saved in the week; over 100 dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ; many surrendered themselves to preach the Gospel; and many others repented of sin in their lives and dedicated themselves to winning souls! It was a very exciting week and I was overjoyed by the opportunity to impact so many lives and so many churches. I did preach in two separate Baptist churches and God blessed in those services too. My last week was an Evangelistic week for Russian speaking churches. In that week we had almost 200 campers and 50 were saved. Others dedicated their lives to serve Jesus Christ. One of the unique things about this trip was that I asked a teenager, Joshua Winstead from Mount Union, PA to join me. He believes that God is calling him to preach and it was a thrill to have him along. He evidenced very strong Christian character, served me very faithfully, and spent much time in prayer for the work that I was doing. I was so excited to see evidence that God is still raising up very Godly young men in our land in these days!!!! At any rate, keep on praying for our work! We are grateful for your prayers and for your support! May God bless you mightily!

Sincerely,

The David Young Revival Team
