Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - Can you believe it is already November?
My this year has flown! Perhaps there is something to that old saying that "time sure flies when you are having fun!" We are "serving the Lord with gladness" and are rejoicing that He has blessed in so many mighty ways.
This fall has been filled with one action-packed revival campaign after another. We began the fall (at least what we call "the Fall") with campaigns in Alabama and Florida. Our first campaign in August was at New Life Baptist Church in Odenville, Alabama. The church family was ready for God to move and that is exactly what He did. Souls were saved, believers were revived, and the church was helped greatly by the work that our Lord accomplished during that week. From Odenville, we headed next to Central Baptist Church of Dixon's Mills, Alabama for a Family Matters Conference. That was a special meeting as well and we were blessed to see the Lord work in the hearts and homes of the church!
September began with two revivals in Florida. The first was at First Baptist Church of Land O' Lakes! God gave us a very special meeting with this church. There were record crowds in many of the services. Souls were saved, including one man whom we met while soul-winning in a local neighborhood. In recent weeks, his wife has trusted Christ as well! I continue to hear via email from people whose lives were powerfully affected by the work that God did during that week. Our second revival in Florida was in Pensacola at Pine Forest Estates Baptist Church. We have been there on several occassions before and know the church family quite well. Although they have faced several trials in recent months, God met with us in a definite way and powerfully moved in hearts and lives. We prayed that God would use us to not only encourage them, but to also help direct them as they continue to serve Him in Pensacola. I believe that He did just that.
From Florida we headed back to Alabama to conduct a revival campaign at Victory Baptist Church of Jemison. This too was a special campaign in which the Lord powerfully convicted of sin and changed lives as they sought him in repentance and faith. Souls were saved, including a mother and her son in the very first service. Lord willing, we are going to return to Jemison next year and conduct an 8 day campaign!
We are now in the North again. In recent weeks, God has lead us to Valparaiso, Indiana; to West Carrollton, Ohio; to Beckley, West Virginia; and currently to Corriganville, Maryland. In each campaign we have seen souls saved, good attendance, and definite answers to revival prayers. Just last night, Dave Corn (my assistant evangelist) and I prayed earnestly for a definite moving of the Holy Spirit in convicting of sin, drawing people to Christ, and reviving in the church. God answered that prayer. In the Children's Revival Adventure, as Brother Dave presented the Gospel, he was interrupted by two older students asking if they could get saved immediately! In the auditorium service, a teenager trusted Christ and a number of believers were deeply convicted of matters in their lives as well. Several stated that it seemed as if the Pastor had been talking to me about them! The truth is that God was at work answering our prayers. What a joy it is to serve a God who still works mightily in answer to our faith! may he continue to "revive us again!"
