Tuesday, December 15, 2009 - End of the Year Newsletter

Today is Thanksgiving Day. When we prayed in our family devotions today we thanked God for the many friends He has given to us as we have served Him for the past 16 years. We stand in awe at His goodness and are grateful for the privilege we have had to preach the gospel in 45 states and in 5 different countries! We are truly blessed.

To say that this year has been blessed may very well be an understatement. We have traveled with three different teams and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. Evangelist Brent Gellos and his wife Kaity (who now have a beautiful baby girl) traveled with us for the first few months as did Evangelist Adrian Burden. In August, Evangelist David Corn joined our team. All three of these have been an incredible blessing and we are thrilled that Brent and Adrian are now traveling on their own as evangelists. God is using them and we are overjoyed that He is. For you that have not heard, Adrian will be getting married in January! David Corn plans to be with us for several years and we cannot wait for you to meet him. He is a very gifted and very talented young man and we are delighted that God has joined us together. He conducts our Children’s Revival Adventure, helps in music, preaches in chapels, works with teens, and serves as my assistant in many, many areas. Our family has already fallen in love with Brother David and I know that you will too.

Several areas were a special highlight this year. The revival meetings certainly were. Souls were saved in every meeting and in every one of them many believers were genuinely revived. Our church-planting-evangelistic-trip to Haiti was a blessing as well and the Berean Baptist Church of Deklen is going strong for our Lord. On that trip we were blessed to serve with John Conrad of the Carpenter’s Project, Youth Pastor James Overton from our home church, and our good friend Kerry Copeland. Another highlight was preaching again in the youth camps in Moldova. Joshua Winstead, a teen from Mount Union, PA accompanied me on that trip and we saw the Lord do some truly wonderful things. Over 75 souls were saved and many Christian young people made life-changing decisions during each of the services. On top of all of this, we were also privileged to be in several youth camps here at home. God used His word to accomplish some amazing things in the lives of dozens of teens. What a thrill to be a part of His work!

As we come to the ending of this year, we pause to give God glory, not only for what He has done, but also for what He is going to do. We have another full year ahead and hope that you will join us in praying for His blessings on this year! We will be preaching in many revivals; working diligently to start Independent Baptist College of Asia-Pacific in Manila; speaking in camps; conducting Vacation Bible Schools; and continuing the process of raising our five children! Abbie and Josh are both in junior high school, Matt is in fourth grade; Jake is in first; and Charity is already a year old. God is certainly good!

Sincerely,

The David Young Revival Team
