Friday, August 3, 2007 - June and July 2007

2007 has been quite an eventful summer. We have been in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, South Dakota, back to Ohio, and across the Atlantic into the country of Moldova! The team has had a multi-faceted summer of ministry. We have been to camps, local church revivals, Vacation Bible Schools, Family Conferences, and the mission field. What a journey!

The team started the summer in Michigan with a local church revival campaign in Mount Pleasant. It was a very well attended meeting. Souls were saved and believers responded well to revival preaching. It was a blessing to get to know the people of that church. From Mount Pleasant the team parted ways for awhile. Dave, Bethlie, and the Young children headed to Hoosier Hills Baptist Camp in southern Indiana for an incredible youth week. Many teens were saved and literally hundreds of others responded to the preaching. What an incredible camp! From southern Indiana the Youngs headed to Iowa for a Family Matters Sunday in Marshalltown. That too was a great day. From Iowa they headed to South Dakota to another Youth Camp facility. In that camp souls were saved and many, many teens responded to the truths from the Bible. Following the camp, the Young family spent a few days of vacation time visiting Mt. Rushmore and the surrounding area. June was just a great month.

Meanwhile, the Coombes family conducted the annual Vacation Bible School at our home church in Heath, Ohio. Here, too, souls were saved and lives were touched by the preaching! Jason was also able to spend some time with his father who pastors in Lyford, Indiana. Due to an injury Pastor Coombes sustained last winter, he has been unable to complete several needed projects. Jason and Kimberly were able to be a great blessing to them in helping to complete the projects.

Without a doubt, the highlight of the summer was our mission trip to Moldova. Moldova is a tiny country located between Romania and the Ukraine. It was a part of the former Soviet Union and although it has a measure of freedom, it is a very poor and struggling country. Our friend, Missionary Evangelist Erik Chapman has been there almost since the country opened. He has helped plant 11 churches, helped in training Moldovan pastors to lead in other church planting endeavors, and purchased two camps to be used as Gospel outreach centers. Working with local baptist churches in Moldova and with a host of supporters here in the states, Brother Chapman conducts several week long camps free of charge for village youth throughout Moldova. The majority who attend are unchurched and unsaved, with the only religious influence being the Russian Orthodoxy religion of icons and works. Dave and Jason each preached two weeks of services to a total of about 800 teens. Seven gospel messages precede the first invitation. Each teen who responds meets personally with a trained counselor. When the weeks were completed, 345 teens had professed faith in Christ. It was an incredible blessing to witness first hand the incredible power of the Gospel in turning people from the darkness to the Lord Jesus Christ!

Please continue praying for us. We have our first recording coming this fall. We have many revival campaigns. We are already praying and planning for 2008. We will conduct many revivals right here at home as well as two area-wide campaigns in the Philippines and, Lord willing, two more weeks in the camps in Moldova. There is much to do and much for which to pray. We hope you will pray and we hope you will consider giving!

Sincerely,

The David Young Revival Team
