Wednesday, April 9, 2008 - Philippine's Evangelistic Trip

The Dave Young Evangelistic Association teamed with The Carpenter's Project for a two week evangelistic trip to the Philippines. Our team consisted of five members including me, Jason Coombes (formerly staff evangelist and partner in the Dave Young Revival Team), Pastor James Overton (youth/assistant pastor from our home church), Evangelist Brent Gellos (who is an associate evangelist with our ministry), and also Brother John Conrad who heads the Carpenter's Project ministry. It was a wonderful evangelistic trip and 102 souls were saved.

Our team spent our entire trip working together with national pastors. We traveled to three cities: Lipa City, Angeles City, and Subic. In Lipa City we conducted several crusade events, including two nights of evangelistic services at the local civic center (a small public auditorium in the center of town), one evangelistic service in the local mall food court, as well as evangelistic services in 7 different local churches in Lipa City as well as in some of the surrounding areas. These events were well blessed and along with the evangelistic services we also had two days of soulwinning seminars with local pastors and church members. It was an incredible blessing to work alongside of national pastors who are doing a phenomenal work for God in Lipa City and its surrounding areas.

Our work in Subic was an added meeting for our team. Brother John Conrad's ministry was familiar with one of the national pastors in the city and requested that we make the trip to see the ministry and to conduct at least one service in the town! It was a genuine blessing to be a part of this dear brother's ministry. He is very poor and lives very meagerly. However, he does an incredible job in reaching Subic and has a ministry that almost any preacher would find enviable. He has planted one church, has started three mission churches that are almost ready to become indigenous churches, and is training men to pastor those mission churches. He is also beginning the process of planting another church in another section of the city where the government is relocating 400 families into very tiny government houses. He will be starting this church in the next few months. It was a long "side trip" but was well worth it to be a small part of this dear man's ministry.

Our final days were spent in Angeles City with National Pastor Nap Donato. Pastor Nap also has an incredible ministry of planting churches, training pastors, and reaching souls within the city and the surrounding areas. We spoke in several churches, at an evangelistic service held in the local cinema, at a youth rally, as well as in their local Bible Institute. I taught two two-hour classes, one on Homiletics and the other on the Christian Home. Of course, the team members helped as well. We closed our trip to Angeles by dedicating the newer building of the Pulang Lupa Baptist Church. This church is a new church plant in the village of Pulang Lupa. This tiny village was a relocation village following the devastation of one of the recent volcanic eruptions. It is a very poor village, but thanks to the giving of Faith Baptist Church in Enterprise, Alabama and the work of Brother John Conrad and the Carpenter's Project, the village now has a local Baptist Church facility that is shining the light of the Gospel into the village. We were overjoyed to have a part in the dedication of that wonderful church.

Please know how very thankful we are to all of you who donated financially for this trip. Souls were saved, soul-winners were taught and encouraged, young pastors were instructed and helped, and the churches were revived and encouraged too! Your prayers were an essential part of the trip. Please keep praying! We are receiving invitations rapidly: to the Philippines, India, Africa, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Haiti, etc. The need has never been greater and the fields are riper than ever before. May God bless you for your part in this ministry.

Sincerely,

The David Young Revival Team
