Thursday, August 14, 2008 - End of Summer 2008
In only a few days our "Fall" revival schedule will get under way with a revival campaign in Hartselle, Alabama. The summer has literally flown by and we have had both a fruitful and an enjoyable summer of ministry. Our vehicles have covered thousands of miles, we have flown thousands more, many souls have been saved, many lives have been changed, many doors have been opened, and we have had the time of our lives. Let me share some highlights with you:
SUMMER CAMPS: We were privileged to preach in two youth camps this summer: one in South Dakota and another in Colorado. The South Dakota camp has been in existence for over 20 years and meets a great need in that part of our country. This was my second summer to be a part of the camp and I was thrilled to see the Word of God convict, challenge, and change lives. Several were saved, some were called to the ministry, many dealt with sin in their hearts, and many others simply grew in their walk with God. I also was privileged to return to Silver State Baptist Youth Camp in the mountains of Colorado. Some friends of our in Nevada and Colorado get together and rent the facilities in order to run a camp for one week. Again, souls were saved, some were called to ministry, and many others responded to the preaching as well.
INTERNATIONAL EVANGELISM: Again this summer I was also privileged to work with Dr. Eric Chapman and Hope for the Future camps in the country of Moldova. I spoke in two different evangelistic youth camps and was thrilled that 286 souls were saved. Many others dedicated their lives to Christ in the two weeks as well. Lord willing, I will return to Moldova next summer for a Leadership week in which I will be helping to disciple many of the converts from the last few years. I am tentatively planning to be there for an Evangelistic Russian Teen Week as well.
GREAT LAKES YOUTH CONFERENCE: One of the other highlights of this summer was the Great Lakes Youth Conference in Cleveland, Ohio held at the Cleveland Baptist Church. It is a three day conference and is run very, very well. The teens and the workers who joined them were a great blessing. I thoroughly enjoyed preaching myself and also enjoyed the others who preached with me. Many decisions were made during the conference and I have received much mail from those who attended indicating that God not only worked in their hearts during the conference itself but also in the days and weeks since. I heartily recommend that many of you attend next year's conference. It will be a blessing.
God continues to open great doors. As I write this I am also making plans for many revival campaigns here at home. I am also making plans for some great evangelistic outreaches in Haiti, India, Moldova, Malawi (Africa), and in the Philippines. Please remember the ministry in prayer and if the Lord directs you to do so, please consider donating towards the International Evangelistic efforts. We are grateful for your friendship.
Sincerely,
The David Young Revival Team
