Friday, December 25, 2009 - It is Christmas Morning
Merry Christmas! Would you like to hear Christmas in one word? Here it is: "Savior!" Luke records the words of the angels who appeared to shepherds on a hillside in Judea: "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." That word "Savior" means "one who rescues us from our sins; from hell." What a glorious way to describle Christmas in one word!
It is glorious because of who Jesus is. He is the God of the universe, the one who created the entire world with simple spoken words. He is Sovereign, Holy, Just, Omni-present and Omnipotent! Yet He came into this world to offer Himself as our Savior!
It is glorious because of what He did. He came to die. He was manifested to take away our sins; He bore our griefs and carried our sorrows; all we like sheep had gone astray, we had turned to our own way, and the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all! Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised from the dead in order to be our perfect Savior.
Do you know Him, whom to know, is life eternal? Do you know His forgiveness? His peace? His pardon? His justification? He alone can forgive your sins. He alone can give to you eternal life. You must turn from your way and your religion and your works and trust Him alone to save you! Will you?
He is still the Savior and He still saves! I know. He did just that for me!!!!!!!
